Organizing committee chairman, Fr. Lorenzo Salandanan, extends an invitation for all to attend a special closing Mass celebrated by Cardinal Thomas Collins, Archbishop of Toronto. In compliance with WorshipSafe protocols, the number of attendees is limited and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration link will be on our website www.ph500toronto.com and on www.facebook.com/500yocTO starting on Tuesday, November 16. The Mass can also be viewed online on Wednesday, December 1.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, we were able to commemorate this special time in the history of the Filipino Church, through an inaugural Mass last March and the many virtual activities and talks done throughout the year. We are grateful for the participation of Filipino clergy, religious and lay groups as well as the valuable support of the diocese and the Filipino faith community.

Christianity first came to the Philippines on March 16, 1521, and thereafter, the faith spread throughout the archipelago, making it the only predominantly Catholic nation in Asia. The faithful of the Archdiocese of Toronto are in unity with Filipinos worldwide as we celebrate this significant moment in the history of the Church in the Philippines.
